18 plates each depicting the local costume for a different canton. The people depicted in each plate are identified in the captions. One plate is signed: F.N. König.

The illustrations are roughly the same as those that apeared (in aquatint engravings) in Koenig's Collection de costumes suisses, tirés du cabinet de Mr. Meyer d'Aarau (1804). In the present work, the illustrations are redrawn, much enlarged, and executed in lithography.
