19th century pop-up New Year card. Glazed cream paper covers, scallop edge, winter scene chromolithographed on front cover: "With love and good wishes for a happy New Year." Two children in winter dress, standing behind silver ornate fence, are visible above winter scene which, when opened, 2 doors, with transparent paper inlays, are revealed. When doors are opened, an altar is revealed with two angels, on either side, supporting a circular emblem with a cross embossed.
