Notes:
The volume bears Townshend's signature, dated 1820, on front endpapers, as well as her note bequeathing the volume to "my dear niece Charlotte Massie at my death," who in turn bequeaths it to her niece Eliza Anne Buchanan at her death in 1868. The verso of the front fly-leaf includes a note in graphite, in a 19th century hand (by Mrs W. Buchanan), recording the "final" bequest in this volume's family history.
