Elix. Popham . of | Littlecoat. | in. Wiltshire" refers to Colonel Alexander Popham | (1605-1669) of Littlecote in Wiltshire. Deputy Lieutenant | of the County. He took the side of the Parliament in the Civil | War, and was one of Cromwell's Lords in 1657, but also | sat in the Cavalier parliament of 1661, and | entertained Charles II at Littlecote in 1663. v[ide] D.N.B) | Coll: Mary Louisa Lady Mordaunt.
