Embossed chart of the River Thames and tributaries from Bollo Brook to the River Lea. Hand-colored in water color. The names of the 'lost rivers' are rubber stamped on the chart with the lettering taken from period maps to the present day tube map.
"Langbourne water, was a great stream breaking out of the ground in Fenchurch Street, which ran a swift course, West, through that street and down Lumbard Street, to the West end of St. Mary Wolmothes Church, and then turning the course down Sharebourne Lane, so termed of sharing or dividing, it brake into divers rills or rillets to the River Thames.
