BAC: British Art Center copy is one of several privately printed, probably dating from 1793-1800. Like the earliest printings, this copy is printed on paper with Honig watermark & with leaves cropped close to platemark. Unlike earliest printings though, this copy includes engraved inscriptions at bottom of plates. cf. Bentley, Gerald. N̲Y̲P̲L̲ B̲u̲l̲l̲e̲t̲i̲n̲, vol. 68 (1964), pp. 369-375. Extra illustrated with pencil sketch by Flaxman tipped in at plate 25 of the Inferno. Owned by Flaxman & sold at Christie's auction of his "drawings and ... remaining works" on 26-27 Feb. 1883 (lot 265).
