This work is included in Combe's list of his own writings, published in Gentleman's magazine for May, 1852. The Dict. nat. biog. (v. 11, p. 432, 434) ascribes the authorship to Combe, but also includes the work in list of Frederic Shoberl's writings (v. 52, p. 147) British Museum Catalogue enters it under both Combe and Shoberl.

Also issued in 20 parts, 1813-1814; an additional part consisting of founders' portraits issued in 1815.

BAC: British Art Center has 5 copies. Copy 1 is Abbey S 278. Large paper copy, uncut, with colored plates. In copy 1 the list of plates is the second issue with the founders; plates 1, 15, 50, 78, and 84 (as given in Abbey, Scenery, 278) are in the first state. Copy 1 has the bookplate of Joseph Neeld.
BAC: British Art Center copy 2 is Abbey S 279. Large paper copy with plates in two states, colored and uncolored, the latter on india paper, mounted. Plates 1, 15, 39, 50, 74, 78, 84 and 94 are in the first state. The subscription list and the list of plates (the first issue without the founders) are bounded after p. xxv in v. 1. BAC: British Art Center copy 3 is Abbey S 280. On ordinary paper with colored plates. Plates 1, 39, 50, 74, 78 and 84 are in the first state. Plate 39 is misbound after plate 28a. The list of plates is the first issue.
BAC: British Art Center copy 4 issued in 20 parts with an additional part comprising the founders' portraits. Advertisements on wrappers and on slips inserted in parts 3, 10, 14, 19 and 20. Errata slip in part 18. The list of plates is the second issue. Plate 1 and 78 are in the first state.
BAC: British Art Center copy 5 is a large paper copy printed on vellum. Includes two copies each plate, colored and uncolored. Contains an additional "Arrangement of plates" leaf. Bound in contemporary red gilt-tooled morocco, by Clarke and Bedford. Armorial bookplate: Sans changer.
