The notes are published in their entirety, with reproductions of the drawings, in: Ormond, Richard. "Chinnery and his pupil, Mrs. Browne." The Volume of the Walpole Society, v. 44 (1972-1974), pages 123-214.
In addition to Chinnery's autograph notes on artistic technique -- accompanied by several drawings -- the volume also includes notes in the hand of his pupil, Maria Bellett Browne. Topics include the union of picture and background, shadows, drapery, colors, landscapes, and miniatures. Several pages at the end of the manuscript, written in the opposite direction, include a list Browne's sitters from 1806 to 1821, a list of "profiles," and a list of "copies of miniatures."
