Notes:: Letter addressed to David Stewart, Earl of Buchan, dated August 20, 1812, regarding a new mechanical method of reproducing "fine engravings." The letter does not specify how the new method works, but Stanhope explains various machinery needed to complete the reproductive process and promises to send Stewart "some admirable specimens, together with a printed description of the whole process."
