Bound in contemporary faux leather boards, the front cover with the emblem of "La Fiera del Levante di Bari."
The album documents the service of Anthony Hind in the Royal Air Force Squadron, no. 117, during the Second World War. The main part of the volume comprises mounted photographs depicting locations where Hind was stationed, including Durban, Cairo, Bilbeis, Khartoum, Tunis, Tripoli, Rawalpindi, Kasmir, and Rangoon. Photographs depict street scenes, air bases, aircraft, military equipment, and candid shots of camp life. Many of the photographs are neatly captioned and dated. Also present, especially at the front and back of the album, is a a large quantity of related ephemera, including beer labels, paper currency, stamps, bus tickets, and cinema tickets.
Several items are laid in, including Hind's Royal Air Force Service and Release Book, and a comic programme for the "Belbeis Donkey Derby, Xmas, 1942."
