The title, photographer's initials, and date are written in graphite beneath the photograph, on a white sheet of paper to which the image is mounted. This white sheet is in turn mounted to a larger gray sheet. There is no clear evidence that the gray sheet was ever part of an album.
As depicted, the beetle measures 24 x 16 cm; taking the magnification ratio into account (x3.5), the orginial beetle specimen presumably measured approximately 7.5 x 4.5 cm.
