Notes:
The original Waterloo Bridge across the River Thames was designed by John Rennie and opened in 1817. The bridge included nine arches, constructed from granite. Due to structural failings, the bridge was demolished in the 1930s. In 1942 it was replaced by a new bridge on the same site.
Title from printed label on sliding box lid. The label also bears an illustration of the bridge, in profile.
The model reproduces Waterloo Bridge's pillars, columns, arches, and lamps. Fully assembled, it measures 95 cm long x 8 cm wide x 10 cm tall. The 151 pieces in the set, all made from wood, comprise: 2 ramps, 3 roadway sections, 48 pillar bases and capitals in two sizes (25 bases of 4 holes, 22 caps of 2 holes), 48 turned posts, 18 railings, and 22 arches (including 4 ends and 6 with hooks attached).
