The volume bound in contemporary half calf; with the armorial bookplate of Baron Northwick; signed in manuscript: William Upcott, London Institution, 1819. Biographical paragraph tipped in before catalogue. MS inscription on verso: Presented to me by the author Mr. Geo. Barker of St Pauls Ch:yard who had it inserted in the Gentlemans Magazine as a tribute of respect to an old acquaintance & an amicable man. The portrait of himself mentioned as in a Levant dress was purchased at the sale of his effects by H.ry [illegible] who conjointly with my other friends Messrs. Hearne & Barker were his executors & [illegible] In token of his regard he bequested to me, (amongst others) a [?]pay of £20. Wm. Alexander.
