- A catalogue of a genuine and valuable collection, the property of a Gentleman : consisting of about thirty pictures of the first class of the different schools of Italy, recently arrived from Rome and Naples : together with a capital selection of the most perfect cabinet pictures, of the Flemish and Dutch schools : collected by him with great taste and liberality, during several journies on the Continent, at different periods, since the beginning of the French Revolution : with the nicest attention to their state of preservation, and by the most favourite Masters : comprising the works of Giorgione, Schiavoni, Paduanino, Domenichino, Carracci, Parmegiano, N. Poussin, Guido, Baroccio, Polydore, S. Ferrato, Rubens, Rembrandt, G. Dow, Wouvermans, Du Jardin, A. V. de Velde, Pynaker, Ostade, Bega, Poelemberg, Waterloo, Palamedes, &c. : particularly three exquisite cabinet pictures by Domenichino, and a capital portrait by Giorgione : among them are very few pictures ever on view in this country; of those few, are the Fiddler, by G. Dow, from the Orlean's Collection : and several first-rate pictures from the same and from the collections of Mons. De Calonne, Baron Nagel, &c. : which will be sold by auction, by Mr. Christie, at his Great Room, Pall Mall, on Friday, May 9th, 1800, and following day, at twelve o'clock : note, no person can be admitted to the Museum through the late residence of Lord Cawder's, the only admittance is from Cumberland Mews.
