BAC: British Art Center copy is the Abbey copy. Lacks the dedication present in the 1803 edition (T 244). Bound in gilt- and blind-stamped green morocco. Gilt edges. Bookplate: Sir Harry Niven Lumsden. Watermarks: Text: 1818. Plates: 1819/1820. Later reprint, as shown by the watermarks, of the 1804 edition of this book, which had first been published in 1803. It is likely that the this late reprint was in fact published by Thomas M'Lean who took over these 'Costumes' in 1818 and reprinted the series adding his own The military costume of Turkey. Cf. Abbey.
