Sometimes ascribed to Joachim von Sandrart (cf. Brunet; Grässe), but the Sandrart named as publisher, presumed author of the address to the reader and descriptive letterpress (p. 3-12), is perhaps Johann Jacob von Sandrart, associated with other pictorial works on Italian architecture.

Illustrations: 42 prints : etching ; double-page (40)--and full-page (2). Except numbers I and XXXXII, all are copies (some reversed and/or slightly reduced) of etchings designed and engraved by G.B. Falda for Le fontane di Roma (1675). 21 are signed: H. Franck sc. (15), Johann Meyer fecit (2), Susanna von Sandrart fecit (2), Azelt sc. (2). Legends in Latin and German.
