Notes:
Manuscript notes on the superstructure of Westminster Bridge, presumably by Charles Labelye. The volume include eight engravings of the bridge design, from an unidentified publication. For each illustration, Labelye provides brief notes, frequently with references to his A short account of the methods made use of in laying the foundation of the piers of Westminster Bridge (1739).
The final leaf includes a summary of expenses: "Supposing the 12 piers & 2 abutments finish'd in the same manner as for a wooden superstructure, here follows a near estimate of the charges of compleating Westminster Bridge in stone so as to be passable to all carriages & travellers ..." The total charges amount to £66,987. To this sum is compared "Mr. King's wooden superstructure ... computed at 31,600."
