The folded engraved map, copied from the "Theatrum orbis terrarum" of Abraham Ortelius, has legend "Typus orbis terrarum".
In the first issue Sir Jerome Bowes' account, "The ambassage of Sir Hierome Bowes to the emperour of Moscovie 1583," is written in the first person and appears on p. 491-505. In the second issue the account is written in the third person and titled "A briefe discourse of the voyage of Sir Ierome Bowes ... in the yeere 1582: and printed this second time, according to the true copie I receiued of a gentleman that went in the same voyage, for the correction of the errours in the former impression."
"The famous voyage of Sir Francis Drake into the South Sea, and there hence about the whole globe of the Earth."--[12] p. inserted between p. 643 and 644.
