Includes 2 maps: "Map to illustrate the route of David Roberts, Esq., R.A. in the Holy Land, Petrea & Syria (plate 125) is bound at end of volume 3; "Map to illustrate the sketches of David Roberts, Esq., R.A. in Egypt and Nubia. 1849" (plate 212) is bound at end of volume 5.

Six-volume edition of 1855-56 of tinted lithographs in one or more colors by Louis Haghe of paintings and sketches by David Roberts of landscapes, scenes, architecture, and antiquities of the Holy Land. The first three volumes comprise the series of lithographs known as the Holy Land; volumes 4-6 are known as "Egypt & Nubia." Roberts traveled to Palestine and the Holy Land from Egypt by way of Suez, Sinai (where he visited St. Catherine's monastery), and Petra. In southern Palestine he visited Hebron, Gaza, Jaffa, Jerusalem, Bethany, Jericho, Bethlehem, and Baalbec
