Full transcription: "Extraordinary talent. For a short time only, at Mr. Bain's market place, Alnwick, you may have a correct likeness for sixpence!!! Cut with common scissors! In a few seconds! Without either drawing, or that school-boy auxiliary a machine, by that celebrated artist Mr. Seville from Manchester. Profiles elegantly finished in bronze one shilling each extra. Full length figures, animals, &c. 5s. each cut in any attitude. Families attended. Open from eleven till three, and from six till nine, evening."
William Seville started working as a silhouette artist in Manchester shortly before 1820, and soon thereafter travelled widely as an itinerant artist.
