BAC: From the Roger W. Moss Collection of manuscript, original art and printed material by and about Richard Shirley Smith.
Leonard Clark, poet, reviewer and broadcaster, wrote about his childhood in Gloucestershire in an earlier book, 'Green Wood'. He now continues his reminiscences of earlier times with, as he describes it "this fragment of autobiography". In "Grateful Caliban" many characters are again drawn to perfection and although autobiographical, it still succeeds in being much more than that; a perceptive and delightful glimpse of quiter, more leisurely days spent in the real countryside.
