Prints by Pierre Charles Canot, Remi Parr, and Henry Roberts; after James Seymour and Thomas Spencer.
Published variously by Thomas Butler, of Pall Mall, or John Cheney, between 1741 and 1754.
Each engraved print is comprised of the image of a horse at center, surrounded by panels containing details of the pedigree and performance of each race-horse. For transcriptions of the text on each print, see Snelgrove.
Outer top margin of plates 1-17, 19, 21, and 23: "For further particulars of this horse see Butler's appendix to his book of horse prints."

BAC: British Art Center copy 1 is bound in quarter roan and marbled boards. Title within red leather label on front cover, with gold lettering. Has bound with it three additional prints: [1] Fox trying a mare. J Seymour delin. H.
