- The image depicts a cobra with its hood open, and with its body curled into a spiral. Above the snake, a piece of paper reads: "The Cobra-Capelle, or Hooded-Snake. Whose high concocted venom through the veins a rapid lightning darks, arresting swift the vital current. Form'd to humble MAN!" (see possibly <emph render="italic">Naja naja</emph>).
