- Scope and Content:
- Written from Bowerswell, Perth. Asks Calderon for any "town gossip or news." Says that his voice is completely gone and that he can only whisper now. Writes that he is otherwise well, but must avoid London fog. Remarks that the weather is good in Scotland, but that he cannot begin any work. Says that he thinks that "no more Art of any kind is wanted, nobody cares now," but perhaps that this feeling only comes from old age. Closes with a postscript asking for news of Leighton.
