A catalogue of the much distinguished and valuable collection of Italian, French, Flemish and Dutch pictures : fine bronzes, sepulchral urns, bustos, vases in antique marble, Porphry, &c. &c. of the late John Blackwood, Esq. deceased : whose knowledge and peculiar taste in the polite arts require no comment : in this collection ae the undoubted works of the following much admired Great Masters, viz Guido, Dominichino, Parmegiano, L. Giordano, P. D. Cortona, M. Angelo, Spagnioletto, F. Mola, Albano, A. Sacchi, S. & M. Ricci, Calabrese, Orbeto, Sal. rosa, Bartholomeo, Borgognione, P. Laura, Valasquez, Bourdon, Du Jardin, N. & G. Poussin, Ochiali, Elsheimer, Swaneveldt, Rubens, Vandyke, Rembrandt, Gonzales, J.-Stien, J. Van Eck, Ursula, P. Brill, B. Luti, V.D. Velde, Cuyp, Snyders, Fyte, De Vos, Hondikooter, Kamboutts, F. Hals, Moucheron, Hommima &c. &c. : particularly, a most capital landscape by S. Rosa : the Tribute-Money by Rembrandt, his own portrait by Ditto : the Aurora and the Evening by Rubens, both engraved : a portrait, Vandyke : St. Peter repenting, L. Giordano : a capital landscape, Cuyp : the Reposo, Rubens : several capital hunting pieces by Snyders, &c. &c. &c. : Which by order of the executors, will be sold by auction, by Mess. A catalogue of a capital valuable collection of antique marbles, marble statues, bustos, cinerary and offuary urns, basso relievos : vases of fine polished pavonazza, brecchetta, &c. marbles, ditto, unpollished richly ornamented and restored by Cav. G. B. Piranesi : a number of specimens of antient and modern marbles, Tuscan alabaster, vases, large mosaics, bianconero, alabaster, lumacella and smeraldina, marble tables : a great variety of fine Roman bronzes, by Zoffoli, Luigi, &c. : the whole collected in Rome by the late Matt. Nulty, painter and cicherone, thirty years resident in that city : N.B. By permission will be introduced a few lots of ancient and modern sculpture, purchased out of the collection of the late Lord Melcombe : which will be sold by auction, by Mess. Christie and Ansell, at their Great Room, next Cumberland House, Pall Mall, on Thursday the 27th March, 1783, and the following day.
