1. The country-man's jewel: or, The jockey's master-piece : Part I contains plain and approv'd rules to choose, feed, and breed the best stallions, horses mares, or geldings. How to order and feed a race-horse. Also how to know a sound horse or mare from one that is distemper'd. With a collection of two hundred choice and approv'd receipts to cure all distempers, and different diseases in horses and mares. The like never before published. Part II prescribes cures for all distempers in black and white cattle; as horses, oxen, bulls, cows, calves goats, mules, asses, sheep, hogs, dogs, deer, hares, and conies. Also to destroy vermin. 2. The compleat horseman and expert ferrier : In two bookes. The first, shewing the best manner of breeding good horses, with their choyce, nature, riding and dyeting, as well for running as hunting, and how the rider ought to behave himselfe in the breaking and riding of colts, as also teaching the groome and keeper his true office, touching the horses and colts committed to his charge, and prescribing the best manner how a perfect stable ought to be scituated and made, not hitherto so fully described by any. The second, directing the most exact and approved manner how to know and cure all maladies and diseases in horses: a worke containing the secrets and best skill belonging either to ferrier or horse-leech: the cures placed alphabetically: with many hundreds of medicines never before imprinted in any author. Published at the earnest request of sundry noble and worthy gentlemen, for the generall good and benefit of the whole kingdome: and dedicated to His most excellent Majestie / By Thomas de Gray Esquire.

The I. containing cures physical; the II. all cures chirurgical: together with the nature, use and quality of every simple mentioned through the whole work. Now the fourteenth time printed, corrected and augmented with above thirty new chapters, and forty new medicines heretofore never publish'd. To which is added by way of appendix, The countrey-man's care for his other cattle, containing the exactest receipts for curing all diseases in oxen, cows, sheep, hogs, goats, and all smaller cattel, with many new additions. And now in this impression is added The compleat jockey; containing methods for the training of horses up for racing; with their heats and courses, and manner of keeping, &c. Also instructions to the buyers, to avoid cheating horse-coursers; and all things necessary for gentlemen, and others. Never before made publick.

Also the nature of simples, manner of making unguents, salves, poltisses, drenches, cordials, and whatever is requisite in physical, or chirurgical operation. Likewise, the art of shooing, bloodletting, roweling, the artifices, devices and cheats of the jockies, &c. To which are added, plain and easie directions for the breeding, feeding, managing and curing distempers in bulls, cows, calves, oxen, sheep and swine; useful and necessary for all persons who expect pleasure or profit by any of the forementioned animals.
